Find a place to stay in Dahlonega that fits your trip

The short answer

Tell the matcher what kind of stay you want, what you need (a walk to the square, a dog, a hot tub, breakfast, an accessible room) and how far you will drive, and it lists the places whose own sites say yes. It covers 47 places in and around Dahlonega; nine of them are within a short walk of the Public Square.

Looking down from the Gold Museum balcony at the square in summer: a white two-story 1800s storefront with green trim, neighboring shops, a parking lot with about eight cars including a white Jeep, brick crosswalk, and two pedestrians (small, mid-frame, walking away/sideways). Trees frame both sides, blue sky with one white cloud.

Which Dahlonega stay fits your trip?

Dahlonega's places to stay run from rooms on the Public Square to creekside cabins, vineyard cottages and campsites in the national forest. Tell us what kind of stay you want, what you need, and how far from the square you are willing to drive, and we will match you to places whose own sites say yes.

A need is marked as met only when the property's own site says so, and each one links to that page. If a site does not say, we show it as a question to ask, never a yes. We list places in and around Dahlonega that have a working official site; we do not take bookings, accept payment for listings, rank places or show prices. Checked October 19, 2026.

Coming back every season? A lot of cabin owners here started as guests. If you are curious what it takes to own and rent a cabin near Dahlonega, start with the local rules.

How the matcher decides

Each place is matched only on what its own website says, and every feature links to the page that says it. If a site is silent on something you need, the matcher shows it as a question to ask before you book, never as a yes. Distances are computed from the Public Square. We take no bookings and no payment from the places listed.

Questions

Is the Gold Museum wheelchair accessible?

Partly. Historic-preservation rules prevent adding an elevator to the 1836 courthouse that houses the Dahlonega Gold Museum, so some second-floor exhibits are not wheelchair accessible. Visitors needing an accessible room or step-free access should ask lodging hosts specific questions too, since many older inns and cabins have stairs.

How tall is Amicalola Falls?

Amicalola Falls is a 729-foot waterfall, which the park calls the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. Amicalola Falls State Park & Lodge, near Dawsonville, has a lodge, cabins and a restaurant. The 8.5-mile Appalachian Trail approach trail to Springer Mountain starts behind the park visitor center.
